Founder
Following his passion for the sea and boats, Claudio started his sea life as a deck officer in 1977, after graduating from nautical school in Messina.
He took his master license at the minimum required age, assuming command of a large ferry at 27, and subsequently spending five years as Master on board six different passenger and car ferries. After gaining this experience, Claudio mostly sailed luxury cruise vessels, completing 20 years of sea service. In 1997 V-Ships Ltd offered Claudio a position ashore in the technical department where he built up his office experience, continuously working for the luxury cruise industry.
Since 2001, Claudio has been working for the luxury yachting industry and the wider commercial marine industry as a Technical Safety Superintendent, achieving the title of Lead Auditor for ISM/ISPS on behalf of the Liberian Registry, the second largest Flag State Administration. In 2008 Claudio founded CD Marine offering a wide range of professional services to manage, assist and advise Owners and their representatives on their projects, from scheduling maintenance plans and technical assistance, to project managing new-build, refit and conversion projects. In 2011, he also became an inspector for the Maritime Labour Convention and is authorized to conduct MLC inspections on behalf of the Liberian Flag Administration.
